Required Documents for PM Surya Ghar Yojana Application
Before you start your application, make sure you have clear, scanned copies or photographs of the following documents ready. These will be required for verification by the portal, DISCOM, and your selected vendor:
- Aadhaar Card – For identity and address verification.
- Latest Electricity Bill – To confirm your DISCOM registration and consumer details.
- Property Ownership Proof – Such as sale deed, property tax receipt, or mutation certificate, to prove the rooftop space belongs to you.
- Bank Account Details – Passbook or cancelled cheque to receive the subsidy amount directly in your account.
- Passport-sized Photograph – A recent photo for your application profile.

- Visit PM Surya Ghar Portal
- Choose Consumer tab and select the Apply Now button
- Enter your mobile number of registration and ensure to read the T&C before proceeding.
- You will receive an OTP on your mobile number, enter the same in the site to complete a successful registration
- On the form page, enter your details like Name, Email ID, Address, State, Pincode and District and click on Save.

- Once the installation is 100% over, the vendor would give a completion report that contains all the details of the plant installed.
- The DISCOM would then verify for net metering from their end. They would give a commissioning report.
- You need to upload the report in the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana portal and wait for 30 days to receive your subsidy amount.

The eligibility requirement includes you to:
- Be a Citizen of India
- Have an own property with ample rooftop space for solar panel installation
- Registered under DISCOM
- To not have previously availed any solar subsidy
Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana Slab
Here is the slab of PM Surya Ghar Yojana in accordance to different capacity:

For residential society, the offer stands at INR 18,000 per kW upto 500 kW. This includes a maximum 3 kW per house and the upper limit being inclusive of individual rooftop plants by individual residents.
