How to Apply for Solar Subsidy in India?
Here are the steps you need to follow on how to apply for PM Surya Ghar Yojana :
Visit the official government website of PM Surya Ghar
Click on the Consumer option
Click on Apply Now
Enter your mobile number and verify your profile with Captcha
Once you receive the OTP, verify it on the box provided and log in
Provide all the basic information, including Name, Email ID, Address, State, District and Pin Code in the box and click on Save
If you know the vendor details, click on the box and enter the details required
Else, if you want the vendor to fill the details, leave that section as it is
Submit your bank details beforehand (where the subsidy amount would be transferred)
You will need to wait for approval from your DISCOM for feasibility. Once done, you can choose from the list of approved vendors by your DISCOM
The selected vendor would install the solar system depending on the choice of components you select. In the end, the vendors would submit the installation completion report to you and the DISCOM
DISCOM authorities would verify the site and check all the prescribed compliance. They would obtain a completion certificate, which you need to submit in the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli portal
The subsidy amount would duly be submitted within 30 days into your account from the date of submission of the certificate

Consumers opting for government subsidy for solar system for home require the following documents:
- Bank-related documents (copy of passbook / cancelled cheque)
- EB Bills with the same name as the Bank account holder
- Proof of Identity and Residence
